Robert’s Rules of Order Training 9:00 a.m. Session
$50.00
April 11th
9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
Bryant Bank Community Room
320 Pelham Ave., 4th floor
Parliamentary procedure—commonly understood as the meticulous application of Robert’s Rules and a group’s bylaws—can often present challenges for even the most experienced of board members. How do we properly make motions, close debate, and elect officers? How should we respond to committee reports? How do we avoid meetings that last forever?
Sarah Merkle has extensive experience helping organizational leaders sort through the ins and outs of parliamentary procedure, with a goal of making meetings efficient, not laborious. At this training, Sarah will discuss how to lead meetings with confidence and efficiency. She will discuss how-to’s for making motions, tips for creating time-saving agendas, presiding and managing discussion effectively—and in general, tools for conducting organizational business with ease.
For over fifteen years, Sarah E. Merkle—one of only five lawyers in the world to have earned the two highest parliamentarian certifications—has used her expertise to help local, regional, and national clients make decisions that honor the law, but efficiently move business forward without disruption. For groups who need help navigating the sometimes crazy world of organizational governance and meetings, Sarah demonstrates that parliamentary procedure can be a helpful tool, and as a former educator, she knows how to make the tricky parts understandable.
