Rock the Vote

Focusing on civic engagement among local Young Professionals, the Committee of 100 YP brought Rock the Vote to the Huntsville area in 2008 and hosted the event again in 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016.

Attracting a diverse crowd of young professionals to network with new and incumbent candidates, the event has been hugely successful culminating with more than 700 attendees and 45 candidates participating in 2016. Young professionals registered to vote, learned about their voting districts, and got to know local candidates at this unique and informative event. The new Campus 805 location (former Stone Middle School) offered the perfect location for a fun evening of music, food and beverages, and great door prizes.

Rock the Vote is a national organization focused on empowering young voters to become engaged in the political process. Rock the Vote requires all sanctioned events to be non-partisan, open to the public, and the events cannot endorse any particular candidates or issues. The Committee of 100 YP has been approved to host an official Rock the Vote event each election year since 2008 (the only one in Alabama). Committee of 100 YP remains committed to the ideals Rock the Vote sets forth.
